I bought a house!

After 6 years, I finally was able to purchase a home. My divorce, in 2017, left me completely starting over. If you are in a similar situation, you are my people. You are the reason I wanted to start my own little community. There is comfort in knowing you are not alone. If I can do it, anyone can.
I am far from financially comfortable but not having a home and place to raise my two girls was hard. We are finally feeling a bit settled. With that said, the home search process was pretty awful. High interest rates coupled with low inventory almost took me out. My budget as a single income household was a challenge. I had a really great mortgage specialist which was a huge help.
I walked away from the first contract on a house in my ideal location because it was an absolute money pit. Then I got outbid on a couple of others that sold over asking. The home I finally purchased is about 10 minutes farther out than I wanted to be but I knew concessions had to be made. We also had school starting for my girls and I felt the pressure.
Overall, I love my little street and the house feels like a blank canvas. Is it my dream house? No. Is it in my dream location? No. But sometimes we have to just roll with the punches. I will definitely be showcasing what I know in DIY and home projects as I put some personality on my little Tudor. As well as life as a single mom. Follow along for the adventures that are sure to ensue!
